More Tea, Please

Handwoven tea towels. Cotton and cotton/linen blends.

I loved making these; easy and elegant. The multi-thread, randomly striped warp makes for excellent variation and depth of color with only a simple plain weave for the structure.

Post Print Design: Revision

I realized that the flags, even considering the beading yet to happen, were not interesting enough to go to print. I hope that this is enough of an improvement.

Post Print: Circus Banner Designs

circusbanner
In light of my on-going Circus obsession, it should be no surprise if you know me relatively well that I would eventually end up in the realm of carnival food. I love this kind of food more than anything else; the only thing missing is a big plate of drippy nachos, but I found those difficult to sketch out in a convincing way. These will be digitally printed out on bamboo sheeting, sewn, and linked together to form a long banner. Each image will be printed out in multiples, and then beaded! Lots and lots of beads!
Here are a few sketches that got me started:

Engineered Prints (Pt. 3)

longscarfflathem

This is my last design for the set of juggler’s scarves. The last scarf is a long scarf (10″ X 60″) conceived in the vein of the never-ending scarf a clown might pull out of his sleeve. Thus, the print is engineered to repeat over the sixty inches, and the solid block of color will be knotted (thus giving the illusion of many scarves tied together).
