Microscopic Puppetry Revisited

slides

This is my half of the solution to the microscope problem, part of a collaborative 2 women, one magnifying glass microscopic puppet show for my Puppets and Prosthetics class. Each slide represents a vignette of one big human tragedy or large scale disaster with the puppets as the slide clovers- small, insignificant plants and animals unseen but impacted all the same by their mere presence. The slide scenes are composed of found black and white photographs of a particular place, tissue paper, and hand drawn elements. The puppet show will take place under a magnifying glass, as we hope to address the size and scale of world events and our individual relationships to those events.

I continue to emphasize my work in puppetry because I feel a strong connection to the traddition of the art and am currently working on a project that involves both weaving and puppetry, so more information on that very soon.
