Helped to facilitate a month-long live-in program for high school students interested in the fine arts. As a residence advisor I worked to develop and run engaging extracurricular programs in addition to looking after the personal needs of students. Classroom work included assisting two fiber classes to help students develop fiber related skills and concepts, provide one-on-one time with students in and out of class to develop work and ideas, and aid in research and presentation of class materials.
Studio Weaving Intern
Carlybird Weaves: Carly Goss
December – May, 2009 | Baltimore, MD
Studio work included loom preparation, maintenance, and repair, weaving of twill and Appalachian based patterns, and hand-sewing and hemming of finished cloth. I also kept the studio efficiently organized and help the artist to prepare for teaching classes and local and national craft shows.
