Rachel Beckman is a textile artist living and working in Baltimore, MD. Initially specializing in weaving, her work has grown to encompass work that reflects her passion for all things spectacle (nudged on by that all too famous Baltimore quirkiness). Through illustration, embroidery, and a healthy dose of sequins and beads, she creates small scale pieces that are either supremely glittery or deeply confessional.
A lover of books since an early age, Rachel spends her spare time writing and binding books (her day job is as a library tech) and drooling over animated films. She is currently serving as the Vice President of the Charm City Craft Mafia.
She received her BFA in Fiber with a minor in Creative Writing from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2011.
